tanzRAUM Faust

Space for the dance scene

Landerer & Company and the Kulturzentrum Faust e.V. invite professional dancers from Hanover and Lower Saxony to use the Kunsthalle Faust as a production venue and rehearsal space.

The space is large, light, and minimalist, with white walls, a high, white ceiling. Several individuals are scattered in the space. They appear to be involved in a dance or movement performance. Some are standing, while others are seated on or near tables. The individuals are dressed in dark clothing. There are a few simple, rectangular black metal tables of varying heights within the space. The tables serve as a backdrop and props for the performance.

Background

TanzRAUM Faust is a barrier-free, fully equipped production venue for professional dance artists. The Kunsthalle Faust offers a spacious, flexible space that provides ideal conditions for creative work processes and artistic development. With TanzRAUM Faust, we want to counteract the lack of spaces for the dance scene in Hanover and Lower Saxony. Our aim is to create a platform and space for local dancers to develop and realize projects and new ideas. We strive to enable rent-free use. However, whether this will be possible depends on the future funding situation and has not yet been determined.

Criteria

The availability of TanzRAUM Faust can be requested at any time. Interested dancers/ensembles are requested to submit their application with the following information in the application form at the bottom of this page:

  • An artistic biography with information on your professional career and/or information on previous projects
  • A brief explanation of how you would like to use the rehearsal space and during which period.

Due to the high demand, reservations can be made according to the following regional and production-related priority criteria:

  1. Local choreographers developing a new production or preparing an upcoming performance.
  2. Local choreographers for research-oriented work.
  3. Choreographers based in Hanover/Lower Saxony who are developing a new production or preparing an upcoming performance.
  4. Choreographers based in Hanover/Lower Saxony for research-oriented work.
  5. Choreographers based in Germany or choreographers from the international dance scene who are working on a production or an upcoming performance.
  6. Choreographers based in Germany or from the international dance scene for research-oriented work.

With a view to the most efficient use and sustainable development of the dance scene, we will consider other aspects where necessary. We rely on trusting and transparent cooperation with all partners.

Therefore, in addition to the criteria mentioned above, we take other relevant aspects into account when making requests for the use of the space:
